I just got back from canvassing in NOVA today. It was truly a rewarding experience and I made a bunch of new, motivated and like-minded friends. There were volunteers of all backgrounds, races and ages. It was really nice. VA is notoriously a red state. It gave me a tremendous sense of accomplishment in knowing that I have a hand in possibly turning that state in our favor. Ladies and gentlemen, get your friends and family members together and DO SOMETHING! Give of your money, give of your time and most importantly give him your vote!

Come on out and volunteer for the Obama Camp... we need everyone to participate so they won't still this one from us again.... I will be canvasing in VA.... I just can't sit on the sidelines and think my vote would be enough, not this time....

OBAMA BLUE DAY!!!September 30, 2008

Its time to REPRESENT!!!!!

This election season has remained too close for comfort and to close to call! We have 100,000s of unregistered and millions who remain on the fence! Its time for us to come together, voice our unity, and make a difference!

Tuesday September 30, 20008 everyone is asked to do two
things;

1) WEAR BLUE
2) REGISTER TWO VOTERS
!

(If you can't register two voters talk to two people who may be on the fence/ or a McCain supporter and sway them to become a Obama Supporter).

LETS MAKE OBAMA BLUE DAY a DAY OF ACTION!!!!

BARACK THE VOTE!!!!!!

Let’s Make it OBAMA-BIDEN 08!!!!!!!!

A little long but a note a friend forwarded to me. Only in America!!

I'm a little confused. Let me see if
I have this straight.....(hope I'm not offending anyone)

* If you're a self-made man who grew up poor
because your dad left the family, you're elitist.

* If you're the son and grandson of Navy admirals and get
into the Naval Academy even though you didn't merit admission
and later marry a millionionaire-heiress who finances your
House and Senate campaigns, you're a down-home regular guy.

* If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you're "exotic,

different."

* Grow up in Alaska eating moose burgers, a quintessential American
story.

* If your name is Barack you're a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.

* Name your kids Willow, Trig, Piper and Track, you're a maverick.

* Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.

* Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you're well
grounded

* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the
first
black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration
drive
that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a
Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator
representing
a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state
Senate's
Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States
Senate representing a state of 13 million people while
sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and

Public Works and Veteran's Affairs committees, you don't have any real
leadership experience.

* If your total resume is: local weather
person 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor
of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the
governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then
you're qualified to become the country's second
highest ranking executive.

* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising
2
beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you're not a real
Christian.

* If you cheated on your first wife with the rich heiress of a former
bootlegger, and left your disfigured wife and your three children and
married the heiress the next month, you're a Christian.

* If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the

proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.

* If , while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no
other
option in sex education in your state's school system while your unwed
teen
daughter ends up pregnant, you're very responsible.

* If you take on the most powerful family in your party and defeat them
despite incredible odds, you're a pretender.

* If you cow tow to your party's looney religious right and make nice
with
the people who said one of your daughters is actually a bastard child,
you're a strong leader.

* If your wife is a Harvard graduate
lawyer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to
work for the betterment of her inner city community, then
gave that up to raise a family, your family's values
don't represent America's.

* If you're husband is nicknamed
"First Dude", with at least one DWI conviction
and no college education, who didn't register to vote
until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated
the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is
extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now.

This "chick" doesn't even have a plan for her own family let alone the country! I'm as progressive, career minded and future focused as the next woman, but i'm not leaving my 4month old special needs baby, school aged children and pregnant teenage daughter home to fend for themselves while i'm out trying to prove a point and conquer the world. Yes i know "dad" is there, however, THE most important job we have as women is raising the next generation of achievers and extraordinary citizens, sometimes at the expense and sacrifice of our own careers and dreams. So I don't know what message MCain was trying to send with this pick but it didn't work for me. Wouldn't have worked anyway..been an Obama supporter from the time he announced his candidacy in Springfield so...Go Obama! ;-)

Hey did you guys know that Palin was undecided as to whom she was going to vote for until she was selected to run as McCain's running mate. She was so busy in her speech about bashing Obama, his wife and the Democratic Party that she forgot to mention her plan for the Economony, Education or Health Care and the War, oh wait a minute she/they have no plan.
Terressa Comment by Terressa on September 9, 2008 at 12:50pm
If you are a part of this discussion group, you have pretty much decided who you will vote for in the next presidential race. Let's also not lose sight that there are plenty of local elections that are just a critical as this presidential race. Since we all have plenty of time now, let's do our research, and pick the right candidates for these local elections. Here in NC we are electing a governor, treasurer, attorney general, and quite a few others. These people are important to my daily living (Especially if they can get the rest of Interstate 540 built-that comment is for the locals)These local officials and our new president need to be on one accord. So please do your research now, don't wait until you are in the voting both.
